| Letters and numbers that indicate color |

-Range from 6 numbers in a row to 6 letters in a row

- 00.00.00 or FF.FF.FF

-Represents a range = 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,a,b,c,d,e,f

- Early computers limited to 256 colors

-worked in pairs

- First pair indicates how much red

-Second pair indicates how much green

Right now I’m feeling pretty good about these portfolios. They seem like they’re going to be very interesting and extremely beneficial in the long run. I haven’t gotten lost yet while starting them which is a major plus! (Day’s not over though, so I guess I shouldn’t count my chickens, right?) But for now I’m psyched which should make it more interesting to do. Always helps. Til next time…

Web Style Guide

Chunking

-One to two pages of info is about the max size for a discrete chunk of info on the web

-Chunking can help organize/present info

-Long web pages tend to disorient readers

-Chunk of info must be flexible and consistent with common sense, logical organization, and convenience

- Match system with users’ expectations

-Most important step in planning your site is to organize information:

-create outlines, chunk info, think about how sections relate to each other, and create a table of contents

Okay, so right after I posted the fact that notes weren’t coming up, someone told me what to do to get them up. Story of my life I guess. Ha! Just have to ask questions to get answers. Yes, it’s that simple. I know, I know, crazy how that happens.

Well, I had been blogging, yet I do not see that it showed up. I typed up a whole page of notes, yet they’re not here. Any ideas what I did wrong? I’m always open to suggestions.

We did not have class today and I’m wondering if we need to attempt to work on the redesign assignment. (Even though I think a lot of people aren’t really sure what to do yet.) So I guess it’s safer to just wait until class on Wednesday. Better safe than sorry, huh. I guess I will do some readings, take my notes and transfer them here to a blog. Crossing my fingers that THIS time they show up!

I’m not quite sure if I’m doing this correctly or not, but I was looking at online portfolios and there was one that really caught my eye. I found it on bigblackbag.com. The artist’s website is chrisalbert.com/default3.asp. The colors are very cool and calming which is totally my taste. I’m not one for bright, vibrant colors; I love earth-tones, colors that soothe. I guess it’s because naturally I’m a very calm person, one to not get stressed out or angry. The pictures were great too, their colors along with the landscapes, especially the Eiffel Tower. (I’m a sucker for France and all it’s beauty having been there a long time ago. It drew me in from the moment I set foot off our plane.) When I have a portfolio, I hope it looks along the lines of this one. Cool, calm, and collected.

Writing for a Web Audience

10 web-writing tips:

1 . Punch up headlines

-Format the first heading as an HTML

-Clarify the content of each section with the section headings, format as

Year of the Senior

Today is my first day of classes as a senior. Do I feel any differently? Yes and no. Yes, because of the fact that I am familiar with the campus and what to do; No running around for me aimlessly wondering where anything is. No, because of the fact that I still have butterflies in my stomach because it is the first day of school. No matter how old we get during our school daze, pun intended, we always have that exciting, yet dreadful first day of school.
